Moscow commemorates the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

April 24, 2017 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation Vardan Toghanyan and Head of the Russian and Novo-Nakichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan placed flowers at the memorial of the victims of the Armenian Genocide on the Armenian Church complex territory.

The event was also attended by the Armenian diplomats and representatives of the Armenian community of Moscow. In remembrance of the Genocide victims a holy liturgy was served at the Armenian Church of Holy Transfiguration.

On April 24, at the “Moscow” cinema theatre will be held the Moscow-premiere of «The Promise» dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. Another event – stage performance of William Saroyan’s «My heart is in the highlands» (staged by Stas Namin) will take place in the «Gavit» theatre in the territory of the Armenian Church complex in Moscow.

On the 102nd anniversary two major events were previously held in Moscow: on April 21, the Embassy hosted the concert of the Komitas State String Quartet, and on April 22, in the Grand hall of the Moscow Conservatory took place the concert of the Russian National Orchestra.
