Moscow commemorates the victims of the Armenian Genocide

April 24, 2023 - On the occasion of the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, installed on the territory of the Armenian Apostolic Church complex in Moscow.

The ceremony was attended by Vagharshak Harutyunyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation, Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan, Head of the Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, diplomats and employees of the Embassy, authorized representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Armenia in Russia, as well as representatives of the Armenian community of Moscow.

The flower-laying ceremony was preceded by the Holy Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Transfiguration of the Lord, after which the rite of glorification of the holy martyrs of the Armenian Genocide was performed.

After the ceremony, Armenia’s Ambassador to Russia V. Harutyunyan, accompanied by Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan, visited the “Tapan” Museum at the Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, where an exhibition dedicated to the coverage of events during the years of the Armenian Genocide on the front pages of the world press was launched.
